Auto-assign the cheapest carrier

Did you know you can create rules based on the cheapest shipping option in Starshipit? This means when orders are imported, they're automatically assigned to the cheapest courier - either every time or based on conditions you set.

This rule makes it simple for your dispatch team to print labels without having to check the cheapest option has been selected.

How to get started:

  • Head to Settings > Rules.
  • Select 'Add a new rule'.
  • Under Condition(s) select the order type that's relevant to you (e.g. All Orders).
  • Under Action choose 'Select Cheapest Carrier/Service'.
  • Click Save.

Add SKUs to labels and skip the packing slip

When you print SKUs directly on your shipping labels, you can fulfill your orders more efficiently, without the need for separate packing slips. The best part? You’ll save time – and paper!

Here’s how it works:

  • Go to 'Settings' > 'Couriers' > [Courier Name] > 'Advanced'
  • Tick 'Enable SKUs on labels'
  • All your new orders will include the SKU on the label to help you pick and pack!
  • SKUs on labels is only supported for Australia Post, DHL, Border Express, Seko, MyFastway, Couriers Please, MyToll and plain labels.

Use recommended packaging to reduce packaging waste and save money

Using an intelligent algorithm, this feature matches the dimensions of items within an order with your configured packages, automatically selecting the best size package every time. This not only minimises material waste but also helps you save on shipping costs.

Here's how to set up recommended packaging:

  • Ensure you have set up your packages with the correct dimensions in your Starshipit account.
  • Confirm that your product imports include item dimensions. The most efficient method is through the Product Catalogue.
  • Go to 'Settings' > 'Packaging' > 'Weight of Packaging' in your Starshipit account. Choose 'Automatically assign packages based on item dimensions' from the dropdown menu.

Merge orders to save time and money (UI 2.0)

Peak season often means customers making multiple purchases in a short space of time, typically due to upsell opportunities and sales. Merging orders lets you cut down processing time and save on shipping costs.

The best part? Starshipit can suggest merges for you automatically!

Here’s how to merge orders:

  • Click Suggested Merges in the main orders grid.
  • Starshipit will display any orders that share a common destination, indicating they can be merged.
  • To merge a group, simply select the orders in the same row group and select Merge on the right-hand side.
  • In the pop-up dialog, assign a parent order, and click Merge. The orders are now merged!

If you have multiple merge suggestions, you can efficiently bulk merge orders:

  • Select all the groups you wish to merge or use the checkbox in the top left to select all orders.
  • Click Merge All.
