Changelog

What's new

Product updates and improvements from Starshipit Shipping and Starshipit WMS.

  1. Starshipit Shipping
    new

You can now control who pays duties, taxes and fees for international Australia Post shipments. Choose from:

    • Receiver pays on arrival
    • Sender pays with Zonos
    • Sender pays with a tax ID

Set a default for all countries, then add different rules for the European Union or individual destinations. Country-specific rules take priority automatically.

Australia Post currently supports sender-paid duties through verified Zonos accounts for US shipments. The tax ID option can be used where an appropriate registration applies, such as IOSS for eligible EU shipments. Australia Post is still confirming sender-paid options for other destinations, including the UK, Canada and Norway. For destinations without a confirmed arrangement, select Receiver pays on arrival.

    Find it under SettingsCouriersAustralia Post.

  2. Starshipit Shipping
    new

We’ve shipped a new round of updates to improve checkout-rate accuracy, reduce manual order edits, and make order and customs information easier to manage.

📦 Shopify checkout and product data

Shopify: Import item dimensions directly from Shopify

You can now import product or variant dimensions from Shopify metafields. This helps keep dimensions aligned between Shopify and Starshipit, allowing packaging calculations to use more accurate product data upon import.

    • Choose whether dimensions should be imported from product or variant metafields.
    • Make sure the relevant Shopify metafields contain length, width and height values.
    • Go to Settings > Integrations > Shopify integration settings and enable product dimension metafield imports.
    • Learn how to import Shopify product dimensions →

Shopify: More accurate checkout rates for individually packaged items

Shopify checkout rates can now calculate each item or unit as its own package. This is useful for oversized products, items that ship in their own boxes, or orders where each unit needs to be rated separately.

    • Go to Settings > Checkout Rates > Packaging settings.
    • Select Pack each item separately – Rates calculated using item weight and dimensions (one package per item).
    • Make sure Use product catalogue on checkout is enabled and product dimensions are configured.
    • Learn more about packaging settings for checkout rates →

Shopify: Import country-specific tax IDs for South Korea and China

Country-specific tax IDs collected through Shopify can now be used for shipments to South Korea and China, reducing manual entry for international shipments. When enabled, destination identifiers such as South Korea’s PCCC and China’s resident ID are imported from Shopify’s localised order fields. These details are passed to DHL Express as receiver registration information and can be used by Australia Post as the international import reference.

    • Go to Settings > Integrations > Shopify integration settings > Advanced.
    • Enable Import country specific tax IDs.

    🧩 Platforms

Neto: Import individual products from bundles

Neto bundles can now be expanded when they are imported into Starshipit. Instead of showing only the bundle SKU, the individual component products are added as separate order line items.

This makes bundle orders easier to pick, pack and validate against the products that physically need to be shipped.

    • Go to Settings > Integrations > Neto integration settings.
    • Enable Import kit/bundle components as separate item lines.

Katana: Import shipping method and shipping amount

Katana orders can now import their shipping method and shipping amount into Starshipit. For example, methods such as Standard or Express can be carried across with the order instead of needing to be entered manually.

    • No additional setup is required.
    • Shipping information is imported automatically when it is available on the Katana sales order.

    🌏 Shipping internationally

NZ Post International: Updated customs declaration options

NZ Post CN22 and CN23 Nature of Transaction options have been updated with clearer B2B and B2C values. These changes support updated international customs requirements and make it easier to provide accurate export-reason information.

    • Go to Settings > Couriers > NZ Post International settings.
    • Make sure the Default Export Type dropdown is set to the applicable reason for export.

FedEx: Add SKUs to commercial invoices

FedEx commercial invoices can now include the product SKU in item descriptions. This can help with returns, finance reconciliation and duty-drawback workflows where SKU-level information is required.

    • Go to Settings > Couriers > FedEx settings.
    • Enable Add SKU to product descriptions.

UPS: Add declaration text to commercial invoices using rules

Rules can now apply declaration text to UPS commercial invoices. This helps ensure consistent customs wording is applied automatically to shipments that require a particular declaration.

    • Go to Settings > Rules and create or edit a rule.
    • Add the action Set Invoice Declaration Text.
    • Enter the declaration wording that should be applied.

    🧾 Order management

eBay: See the buyer’s username in the Orders grid

The buyer’s eBay username is now imported as the order reference and displayed in the Orders grid. This makes it easier to identify and group orders from the same buyer, particularly for eBay Live fulfilment workflows.

    • Go to Settings > Integrations > eBay settings.
    • Enable Import buyer username as reference.

    ⚙️ Rules

Shipping Zones: Exclude zones from rules

Shipping Zone conditions now support is not logic. This makes it easier to route, price or manage orders based on destinations outside a selected zone.

    • Go to Settings > Rules and create or edit a rule.
    • Choose Shipping Zone as the condition.
    • Select is not and choose the zone that should be excluded.

  4. Starshipit WMS
    improved

Pack-job screen showing order progress, exceptions and reprint-label controls.

This release brings together a number of practical improvements across product sync, orders and packing.

    More control over product syncs

You can filter Shopify product imports, keep product-import settings separate from scheduled daily sync settings, and use those filters when starting a sync manually. WMS can also run daily product syncs with Starshipit, helping product data stay current without requiring a manual sync each day.

    Clearer order and packing progress

Order and pack-job views now show clearer pick and pack progress, packed quantities, item exceptions and the latest workflow information. Improvements to split-fulfilment handling help the status reflect work completed across more than one shipment or packing step.

Packing teams can also search pack jobs by tote, making it faster to find the right work during a busy shift. Browser-based reprinting is available when a shipping label needs to be printed again.

For more information, see Products and inventory configuration, Orders and allocation, and Packing and shipping orders.

  5. Starshipit WMS
    improved

Picking screen confirming a scanned warehouse location.

WMS now gives you more control over how your picking team verifies work on the warehouse floor.

Enable Require Location Scan Before Pick to require a picker to scan the source location before confirming a pick line. This adds a useful accuracy check for warehouses with similar products in nearby bins, or where scan discipline is an important part of the process.

You can also configure picking interface workflows to suit the way your team works. Barcode scanning, serial and split-line handling, tote picking, and manual quantity adjustment remain available across the shared picking interface, so staff have consistent controls across different job types.

For more information, see Picking orders and the WMS settings reference.

  6. Starshipit WMS
    improved

Replenishment planner showing products, bulk sources, pick faces and quantities.

We have improved the way you can plan, create and work replenishment in WMS.

Set minimum and maximum capacity levels on pick faces to create replenishment work when stock runs low. You can also generate work from outstanding order demand, or use the Manual Replenishment Planner to add one or more replenishment lines before a busy period.

Each line lets you specify the product, bulk source location, destination pick face and quantity. Supervisors can assign replenishment jobs, set priorities and use Allocate now when work needs to start immediately.

These options give you more control over moving stock from reserve storage to the locations your pickers need, before an empty pick face slows fulfilment down.

For more information, see Replenishment and Locations and warehouse setup.

  7. Starshipit WMS
    new

Container tracking panel showing its location and inventory records.

WMS now supports containers as a first-class part of your warehouse workflow.

Create a container to represent a physical unit holding stock, then use it as inventory is received, stored, picked or replenished. A container has its own reference and barcode, so warehouse staff can scan it to find the stock it holds and its current location.

Use the Containers dashboard to view container contents, move a container to another location, or archive a container that is no longer in use. Container references also appear in stock movement history and unified search, giving your team a clearer trail when they need to locate stock or investigate a movement.

For more information, see Container tracking and Unified search.

  8. Starshipit WMS
    improved

Slow-moving stock report showing product age and last movement.

We have expanded WMS reporting to make it easier to spot stock risks, monitor warehouse performance and act before an issue affects fulfilment.

Use the Slow-moving Stock report to identify products that have remained in stock without enough movement over a selected period. This can help you investigate excess inventory, plan promotions or clearance activity, and avoid tying up valuable warehouse space in products that are not selling.

The reporting suite also includes Packing Bench, Expiring Stock, Traceability, Fulfilment and PO Receipt reports. Together, these reports help you review throughput, inbound activity, stock nearing expiry and the history of batch- or serial-tracked inventory. You can favourite the reports your team uses most to keep them close at hand.

For more information, see Reporting and insights.
