The Starshipit WMS mobile app helps your team complete day-to-day warehouse tasks on the floor without needing to return to a desk between each step.
The app supports:
- Picking (including tote pick)
- Putaway
- Replenishment
- Kitting
- Cycle counts
- Receiving purchase orders
- Inventory adjustments
- Location scanning with in-context stock checks
Important: Packing is not completed in the mobile app. Packing continues in the standard WMS packing workflow.
Before you start
Make sure:
- Your Starshipit login has access to WMS.
- You have a scanner setup that suits your process (camera scan or physical scanner).
- Your warehouse locations, products, and tracking rules (batch/serial/expiry where needed) are already configured in WMS.
First-time sign-in and setup
When you sign in for the first time, the app walks through a quick setup:
- Choose the job types they will work on.
- Choose scanner mode:
- Camera scanner
- Physical scanner
- Choose equipment (for example, trolley or cart).
- Confirm setup and enter the app.
You can change these settings later.

- Start jobs directly
- Release jobs when needed
- Scan to find jobs faster when using scanner mode
This is designed for quick execution, so you can move straight into job steps.
Mobile workflows
Picking (standard)
Typical mobile picking flow:
- Open a pick job.
- Scan and confirm source location.
- Scan products to increment picked quantity.
- Use quantity buttons (if enabled) when needed.
- Stage picked stock to the packing bench.
- Complete the pick job.
Picking (tote pick)
Tote picking lets you pick for multiple orders in one run:
- Assign tote destinations.
- Pick items and place them into the correct tote.
- Complete tote pick transfer.
After you complete tote pick, orders continue through the normal downstream packing workflow.
Putaway
Putaway on mobile supports moving stock from staging to final locations:
- Open putaway job.
- Pick staged stock.
- Scan or choose destination location.
- Submit putaway lines.
Replenishment
Complete replenishment in two phases:
- Pick stock from source or bulk location.
- Move and confirm stock into the pick face location.
Kitting
Mobile kitting flow:
- Open kitting job.
- Pick required component quantities.
- Confirm and process kit output to the selected location.
Cycle count and issue reporting
Cycle count on mobile lets you verify stock where it sits:
- Scan location and product.
- Enter counted quantity.
- Submit count (with adjustment where needed).
From picking steps, you can also report discrepancies and create a follow-up cycle count process.
Receive purchase orders (Receive PO)
To receive stock from a PO using mobile:
- Open Actions > Receive PO.
- Select a receivable purchase order.
- Select a line (scan or search product).
- Select receiving location.
- Enter received quantity and tracking details (batch/serial/expiry if required).
- Enter cartons received.
- Submit receipt.
This is useful when receiving teams work away from a fixed workstation.
Adjust inventory and scan locations
Use Actions for quick stock checks and corrections:
- Adjust Inventory:
- Scan/search product
- Select location
- Enter increase/decrease with reason/reference
- Submit adjustment
- Scan Location:
- Scan location barcode
- View stock currently at that location
- Select a product and jump directly into adjustment if needed

Best practices for rollout
- Start with one workflow first (for example, PO receiving or standard picking), then expand.
- Keep barcode labels clear and consistent across products and locations.
- Train your team on when to use manual quantity buttons versus scan-only confirmation.
- Set clear rules for where to report discrepancies so cycle counts are raised consistently.
- Keep equipment naming aligned between floor teams and WMS to avoid mis-staging.
