Overview

Before you can print a shipping label, you need to set up your printer with Starshipit and install the Starshipit Print Application.

Windows macOS

1. Connect your printer

Wired printers

  • If your printer connects by a cable, plug it into your device. It'll connect automatically.
  • Your PC will then download the right drivers and you can move on to step 2.

Wireless printers

  1. Select Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners
  2. Next to Add a printer or scanner, select Add device.
  3. Wait for it to find nearby printers, then locate the one you want to use and select Add device.

2. Download and install the Starshipit Print Application

Our Print Application is how Starshipit talks to the printer plugged into your computer. You cannot print a label without the Print Application.

Set up the Print Application on Windows

  1. Log into your Starshipit account.
  2. Go to Settings > Printing (Classic UI)/Desktop app (UI 2.0).
  3. Click Download Starshipit Print App (Windows).
  4. When you click install, you may be prompted to download additional required software, such as Microsoft .NET Desktop Runtime. This is necessary for the Print Application to function.
  5. Once the app has been downloaded and installed, run it.
  6. Log in using your Starshipit login details (the same details you use for the web app).

Setup the Print Application

Starshipit will automatically prompt you to select a printer when you first print a label through the Print Application. You can also configure your printer settings manually.

  1. Click Printing > Print Settings.
  2. Click Assign a label to a printer.
  3. Select your label type and printer.
  4. Click Save to add your label type and printer as a new entry.
  5. Repeat steps 3-5 for each label type and printer you wish to set up.

3. Configure your print settings

You can also modify the label size or orientation for an entry.

  1. Click Printing > Print Settings.
  2. Click Edit Preferences.
  3. Make any changes to paper size, orientation, width or height.
  4. Click Save.

You may also need to offset your label in the printer settings.

  1. On Windows, go to your Printers & scanners settings.
  2. Find your label printer and click Manage.
  3. Add spacing to the unprintable area – You may need to test print your label a couple of times to get the spacing right.
