> Set up FedEx Express in Starshipit, validate your account, add product codes, and confirm the connection works.

Connect FedEx Express to Starshipit so you can create shipping labels, generate live rates, send tracking notifications, and write tracking details back to your sales platform.

## Before you begin

Make sure you have:

- An active FedEx account number.
- Access to the email address or phone number linked to your FedEx account.
- A complete pickup or sender address in **Settings > Pickup address**.
- The FedEx service codes you want to use in Starshipit.
- PNG files for your commercial invoice signature and letterhead if you ship internationally.

Your pickup or sender address must match the address FedEx has on your account. FedEx registration can fail if these details do not match.

## Connect FedEx

1. Go to **Settings > Couriers > Add New Courier > FedEx**.
2. Enter your FedEx account number.
3. Tick **Enable FedEx**.
4. Read and accept the End User License Agreement.
5. Check that your pickup or sender address is complete and matches your FedEx account.
6. Click **Register**.
7. Select a PIN validation method. Choose **Email**, **Phone**, or **SMS** based on the details linked to your FedEx account.
8. Click **Generate PIN**.
9. Enter the PIN and your company name, then click **Validate PIN**.
10. Click **Save**.

If validation succeeds, Starshipit populates your child key and secret. If validation fails, check your pickup or sender address, then try another PIN validation method.

## Configure FedEx services

After you connect FedEx, add the product codes for the FedEx services you want to use.

1. Go to **Settings > Couriers > FedEx**.
2. Enter the product codes you want to use.
3. Select your FedEx packaging type.
4. Upload a commercial invoice signature if you ship internationally.
5. Upload a company letterhead or logo if you ship internationally.
6. Click **Save**.

:::important
Commercial invoice signatures must be PNG files no larger than 240x25 pixels. Letterhead or logo files must be PNG files no larger than 700x50 pixels.
:::

For the full list of supported service codes and packaging options, see [FedEx product codes and packaging](/articles/couriers/fedex/fedex-product-codes-and-packaging).

## Verify the connection

After setup, confirm FedEx is ready to use.

1. Create or open a test order with a valid sender and receiver address.
2. Select a FedEx service from the courier options.
3. Generate a rate or print a test label.
4. Check that the label, tracking number, and any commercial invoice details are created correctly.

If the FedEx service does not appear, check that the product code is saved in **Settings > Couriers > FedEx**.

## Migrate from FedEx Legacy

Use the FedEx REST API integration for new FedEx setups. If your account still uses the legacy FedEx integration, migrate to the REST API integration when you are ready to update your connection.

For migration steps, see [Migrate from FedEx Legacy to FedEx REST API](/articles/couriers/fedex/migrate-fedex-legacy-to-rest-api).

## Troubleshooting

If registration, service selection, or image upload fails, check the FedEx troubleshooting guide before contacting support.

For common fixes, see [FedEx troubleshooting](/articles/couriers/fedex/fedex-troubleshooting).
