Connect Evri (formerly Hermes) to Starshipit to create United Kingdom and international shipping labels and manage tracking credentials.

## Before you begin

Before you begin, ask Evri for the following credentials:

* Client ID
* Client Name
* User ID
* Password
* Tracking API Key
* Tracking Client ID
* Tracking Client Secret, if you want to use Evri tracking

You may also need the Evri product code and product name for any services you want to use. Contact Evri's integration team at [IT.Integration@hermes-europe.co.uk](mailto:IT.Integration@hermes-europe.co.uk) if you are missing these details.

If you are missing any of these credentials, please contact [Evri's integration team](mailto:IT.Integration@hermes-europe.co.uk) with your account client ID.

## Set up Evri

1. Go to **Settings** > **Couriers** > **Add a new courier**.
2. Select **United Kingdom** as the shipping-from country and choose **Evri**. Older account records may show the courier as **Hermes**.
3. Tick **Enable Evri**.
4. Enter the **Client ID**, **Client Name**, **User ID**, and **Password** supplied by Evri.
5. Enter the **Tracking API Key**, **Tracking Client ID**, and **Tracking Client Secret** if you want Starshipit to provide Evri tracking information.
6. If Evri supplied test credentials, enable **Use Staging URL**. Leave it disabled for live credentials.
7. Click **Save**.

## Add product codes

Evri does not require a product code for its default label service. Add a product code when you use one of these services, or when Evri has supplied a code for your account:

| Product Code | Product Name | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 9 | French Home Deliveries | International delivery service. |
| 11 | Untracked Mail | Evri's 48-hour untracked service. |

1. Scroll to **Add product codes**.
2. Select **Add a new product code**.
3. Enter the **Code** and **Name** supplied by Evri.
4. Click **Save**.

## Configure advanced settings

Open the **Advanced** tab to set defaults for labels and notifications:

| Setting | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **Signature Required** | Defaults shipments to require a signature. |
| **Use generic description for items** | Uses the generic item description configured under **Settings > Options** instead of the order item's description. |
| **Enable SMS Notifications** | Enables Evri SMS notifications where the service and account support them. |

Click **Save** after changing an advanced setting.

## Verify the connection

Create a test shipment with an Evri service and confirm that a label is generated. If tracking is configured, confirm that the tracking number and tracking link are returned after dispatch.

## Troubleshooting

* If Starshipit cannot save the settings, check every required credential and remove spaces copied before or after each value.
* If tracking is unavailable, recheck the three tracking credentials and confirm that Evri has enabled tracking access for your account.
* If a service is missing, add the exact product code and name provided by Evri.
