(Early Access) Dynamics 365 Business Central Setup Guide

Overview

  • Dynamics 365 Business Central is a powerful business management solution that integrates with Starshipit to streamline your shipping workflows.
  • This integration enables Starshipit to import orders from Dynamics 365 Business Central and write back tracking information when labels are printed.

How to set up the integration

  1. Authorise Starshipit to access your Dynamics 365 Business Central instance by adding it as a Microsoft Entra application and granting consent.
  2. Retrieve your Dynamics 365 Tenant ID.
  3. Submit your Tenant ID and account details to Starshipit to finalise the integration.

Authorise Starshipit access

You must have Microsoft Organisation Admin access or the required permissions to grant Starshipit access to your Dynamics 365 Business Central instance.

  1. Sign in to Dynamics 365 Business Central
    • Use the search bar to search for "Microsoft Entra Applications". This is where you allow Starshipit access to your data.
    • Navigate to the Microsoft Entra Applications page.

  2. Add a new Microsoft Entra application
    Click + New to add a new application. On the form, enter the following details:
    • Client ID: 1fd63e6a-011e-4d67-9eea-cf85ce495b13
    • Description: Starshipit Shipping Automation
    • State: Select Enabled from the dropdown.

  3. Grant consent
    1. Click Grant consent. A new window will open, prompting you to allow Starshipit access to your Dynamics 365 Business Central instance.

    2. Click Accept. If successful, you should see a confirmation message in Dynamics 365.

Provide your Dynamics 365 tenant ID

To enable Starshipit to access Dynamics 365 Business Central APIs and retrieve orders or write back tracking information, provide your Tenant ID as follows:

  1. Find your Tenant ID
    Locate the Tenant ID in Dynamics 365 Settings or the unique ID in the URL when accessing Dynamics 365. The Tenant ID will be in a GUID format, e.g., cff30f09-e6aa-44f2-861a-357e352be731.

  2. Submit the required information
    Complete the form including the following details:
    • Your Dynamics 365 Tenant ID
    • Your Starshipit account number
    • Your contact information
