Store product details such as SKU, HS/HTS code, cost price and bin location in Starshipit's Product Catalogue. Apply matching data during import, supported checkout requests or manually to existing eligible orders, using your saved fill-missing or overwrite policy. ## What you can do with the Product Catalogue Want to pick and pack from Starshipit, but need to specify where items are stored? Use the Product Catalogue to specify the location of each item. This information will be printed on packing slips and displayed in the UI for easy access. Missing item dimensions when creating packages? Specify the dimensions of each product, then [configure how Starshipit uses item dimensions for packaging](/articles/206705413-set-up-packages-and-import-weights-and-dimensions). Shipping internationally and missing crucial customs details like HS codes and country of origin? Add these details to the Product Catalogue. For matching SKUs, Starshipit can fill the order item's customs fields according to your Product Catalogue settings. Check the details on the order before you print the label. Is the item name on your storefront causing delays at customs? Set a customs description for your items in the Product Catalogue. Apply it using your saved catalogue policy, then check the order item before shipping. Don't have item weights loaded in your platform? Set the weights in Starshipit so your shipping quotes are accurate and acceptable to your couriers. Want accurate live rates at checkout? Starshipit can use matching Product Catalogue data when it calculates live checkout rates for **Shopify**, **BigCommerce**, **Tiendanube**, and **Wix**. Enable the Product Catalogue for checkout and make sure each checkout item has a SKU that matches a catalogue product. Other ecommerce platforms can still use Product Catalogue data during order import, but are not supported by this live-checkout setting. Add an HTS Code to your products in the Product Catalogue. For a matching SKU on a U.S. shipment, Starshipit can use it when the order item's HS code is empty or your settings allow catalogue values to replace it. Check that the code you entered correctly classifies your product before shipping. Managing B2B2C shipments where you can't declare retail prices? Include the **Cost Price** for your products and enable the US cost-price setting in Product Catalogue settings. The saved fill-missing or overwrite policy controls whether an existing item price can be replaced. Confirm the appropriate customs value for your shipment before shipping. Need updated catalogue data on an order already in Starshipit? Use [Apply Product Catalogue to existing orders](/articles/1792513200001-apply-product-catalogue-to-existing-orders) in UI 2.0 to refresh one eligible unprinted order or all active unshipped orders. Saving a catalogue product alone does not update existing orders. ## How it works 1. **Load your products into Starshipit** Add products to the Product Catalogue manually or via CSV import. Include details like SKU, weight, dimensions, HS code, and any other shipping-related fields. 2. **Match products by SKU** * **During order import:** Starshipit checks for matching SKUs between the incoming order items and the Product Catalogue. * **On checkout (live rates enabled):** Starshipit references the Product Catalogue to complete or replace missing product information — like dimensions or weights — before calculating rates. * **On existing orders:** Use the manual single-order or bulk action to apply saved catalogue data without deleting and reimporting orders. 3. **Settings control how data is applied** Choose whether to replace supported item fields or fill missing values. The empty-or-zero safeguard can preserve populated fields when the catalogue is incomplete. 4. **Check the result** Verify the item details and package measurements on representative orders or carts.
