Available for Cin7 Omni, Shopify, WooCommerce and Magento2. Sidekick can also be used outside of these integrations — for example, from any web application. In this case, you’ll just need to enter the order number manually, as Sidekick won’t be able to automatically detect it for you.
Use cases
- Bring up the Starshipit Sidekick panel from other applications (like Shopify and Cin7 Omni), meaning you never have to toggle screens to go looking for a tracking number again.
- Quickly access order information from Shopify, WooCommerce, Cin7, Magento2 and Cin7 Omni — or anywhere else you’re working, by manually entering the order number.
- Print labels, open orders in Starshipit and copy the tracking number directly from the side panel.
- Quote shipping without an order: Enter an address and package details to instantly view courier rates. This avoids having to create and then archive a dummy order, making it handy for quoting directly from wherever you’re working (e.g. from an email asking “how much to ship X?”).
How to get started
- Install the extension to your Chrome browser.
- Right-click on the extension icon and go to Options, or open the extension and click the Settings cog. This will take you to the settings page for the extension.
- You will need to enter your Starshipit API Key and Subscription Key. There is a link in the page that will lead you to the Starshipit API settings page. Copy these details across and save them in the extension settings page.
- Enable the functionality for the platforms you use. For example, if you use Shopify to manage orders, toggle the Shopify setting. When you click Save, the extension will prompt you to allow it to access your data from shopify.com. Click Allow to ensure the extension works correctly.
- You're now setup and ready to use the extension.
When you go to Shopify, and go to the order details page for a specific order, you should now see an Open in Starshipit Sidekick button. Clicking this will reveal information about the order in Sidekick in the side panel of your browser. From this side panel, you can print the order label, open the order in Starshipit and copy the tracking number.
Look up rates
Use Sidekick to quickly view rates across all your connected couriers by entering the destination address and package details. This lets you:
- Quote shipping costs before an order is placed.
- Compare rates without creating an order in Starshipit.
- Provide instant quotes directly from wherever you’re working (like your inbox or another tool).
Supported web browsers
You can use Starshipit Chrome extensions in either Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. To install the extensions in Microsoft Edge, simply head to the Chrome Web Store (instead of the Edge Add-ons website).
