# Connect Odoo to Starshipit

> Connect the Odoo Starshipit Shipping module and configure a shipping method using your Starshipit credentials and services.

Connect the Odoo Starshipit Shipping module to Starshipit so Odoo can retrieve shipping rates, create labels, and receive tracking numbers.

The integration is managed by Odoo. Contact Odoo support if you cannot install or configure the Starshipit module in Odoo.

## Before you begin

In Starshipit, configure:

- Your pickup address under **Settings > Pickup address**.
- At least one courier under **Settings > Couriers**.
- Checkout rates for each courier you want to make available in Odoo.
- Your API and subscription keys under **Settings > API**.

## Install the Starshipit module

1. In Odoo, open **Apps**.
2. Search for **Starshipit Shipping**.
3. Click **Activate**.
4. Go to **Inventory > Configuration > Settings**.
5. Enable **Starshipit Connector**.
6. Open **Starshipit Shipping Methods**, then click **Create**.

## Configure the shipping method

1. Enter `Starshipit` for **Shipping Method**.
2. Select **Starshipit** as the provider.
3. Select or create the delivery product shown on sales-order lines when Odoo calculates shipping.
4. Under **Starshipit Configuration**, enter your Starshipit API key, subscription key, origin address, and default package type.
5. Save the form using the cloud icon beside the breadcrumb.
6. Click **Select a service linked to the Starshipit account**.
7. Select the delivery and return service, then click **Confirm**.

Enable Odoo's **Packages** feature under **Inventory > Configuration > Settings** before selecting a default package type.

## Verify the connection

Create a test quotation, select the Starshipit shipping method, and click **Get rate**. Confirm Odoo returns the expected Starshipit service and rate.

:::warning
Starshipit does not provide test API keys. Odoo test environments may cancel created labels automatically, but some couriers can still charge for label creation. Check the courier account after testing.
