> Combine direct integrations, warehouse systems, manual orders, CSV imports, and API connections in one Starshipit operation.

Use multiple connection flows when your stores, clients, or order sources do not all follow the same operational path.

For example, one Starshipit operation can:

- Import retail orders directly from Shopify.
- Receive wholesale orders from a warehouse or inventory system.
- Import partner orders from CSV or FTP.
- Receive custom-platform orders through the API.
- Create occasional replacement orders manually.

## Design the flow

1. Identify the source of truth for each type of order.
2. Decide which system should control allocation, fulfilment, and tracking writeback.
3. Avoid connecting the same order source through two methods unless you have a deliberate deduplication process.
4. Test each flow with clearly identifiable orders before going live.

If you operate separate locations, brands, clients, or linked accounts, start with [Choose a multi-location or 3PL setup](/articles/90200000000405-choose-a-multi-location-or-3pl-setup).

If a standard integration is unavailable, [choose a custom connection or file import](/articles/90200000000511-choose-a-custom-connection).
