> Create a fresh active order with the same details when you need to redo shipping.

Redo shipping replaces an order with a fresh active copy using the same order details. Starshipit archives the original order and puts the replacement in **New**, ready for you to review, change, and print again.

## Before you begin

- Use redo shipping when the original label or shipment details need to be replaced.
- Check which label is attached to the parcel before you redo an order. The original order is archived, but its courier shipment may still need to be cancelled.
- Use **Clone** rather than redo shipping if you need another copy while keeping the current order and label active.

:::warning
Redo shipping does not guarantee that the original courier shipment is cancelled. Cancel the original tracking number separately unless your courier's automatic-cancellation setting applies and the shipment is eligible.

## Redo shipping

1. Go to **Orders** and find the order you want to replace.
2. Select the order.
3. Open **Actions** and choose **Redo shipping**.
4. Read the confirmation message, then select **Continue**.
5. Open the replacement order in **New**.
6. Review the receiver, items, packages, courier service, and any changes you need to make before printing a new label.

## Check the result

After redo shipping:

- The original order is in **Archived**.
- The replacement order is in **New** with the same order details but without the original tracking number or label.
- You can update the replacement and print a new label when it is correct.

If the original parcel will not be sent, follow [Cancel a courier shipment](/articles/12936466001295-cancel-a-courier-shipment) and use the original tracking number.

## FAQs

<!-- faq:start -->

<!-- faq:question -->Why do I see two versions of the order?<!-- /faq:question -->

Redo shipping keeps the original order in **Archived** and creates a replacement in **New**. This preserves the original record while giving you a fresh order to process.

<!-- faq:question -->Does redo shipping cancel the original shipment?<!-- /faq:question -->

Not in every case. Cancel the original courier shipment separately unless your courier has an enabled automatic-cancellation setting and the shipment is eligible.
