# Picking only workflow

> Pick orders accurately in the Pick & Pack mobile app before handing them to a packing team.

Use the picking only workflow when dedicated pickers collect items and hand them to a separate packing team or packing system.

## Before you begin

Make sure your mobile device is charged, connected to Wi-Fi, and signed in to the correct Starshipit account. Prepare any totes, carts, or staging areas your team uses to separate picked orders.

## Choose orders to pick

1. Open the Starshipit Pick & Pack app.
2. Go to the **Picking** tab.
3. Filter by date, source, status, courier cut-off, or saved view.
4. Sort the list to match how your warehouse is set up.
5. Open the order you want to pick.

You can also scan an order barcode from a pick slip to jump straight into an urgent order.

## Pick the order

1. Use the order details screen as your digital picking list.
2. Tap the **barcode icon**.
3. Scan each product barcode as you move through the warehouse.
4. Check the picked quantity on screen.
5. Tap **Complete picking** when the order is ready for packing.

If stock is short, pick what you have and save the order as partially picked.

## Use batch picking and totes

For higher volumes, long-press an order to turn on multi-select, then choose a group of orders to pick together.

If your warehouse uses totes, assign one tote per order and place items into the correct tote as you move through each aisle.

## Stage picked orders

1. Move picked items, totes, or carts to the designated packing area.
2. Group work by courier, destination, cut-off time, or packing bench if useful.
3. Tell the packing team about any partial picks, damaged items, or missing stock.

## Verify the handover

Before you finish your shift, check the **Picking** tab for orders you started but did not complete. Confirm any remaining totes or carts are labelled and left in the correct area for packers.
