# Picking and packing workflow

Use the picking and packing workflow when the same person or team picks items, packs orders, and prints labels in one end-to-end flow.

## Before you begin

Make sure your mobile device is charged, connected to Wi-Fi, and signed in to the correct Starshipit account. Set up your trolley, totes, cartons, satchels, and label printer before you start.

## Pick the order

1. Open the Starshipit Pick & Pack app.
2. Go to the **Picking** tab.
3. Use filters, sorting, or saved views to choose the orders you want to pick first.
4. Open an order or batch.
5. Tap the **barcode icon** and scan product barcodes or GS1 labels as you pick each item.
6. Tap **Complete picking** when every available item is picked.

If some items are not available, pick what you can and save the order as partially picked.

## Move to packing

Take the picked items or totes to your packing station. Completed picks appear on the **Packing** tab as ready to pack.

## Pack and print the label

1. Open the order from the **Packing** tab.
2. Scan the order barcode, scan the tote ID, or select the order from the list.
3. Scan each product as you place it into the carton or satchel.
4. Scan package barcodes if the order needs multiple parcels.
5. Capture photos of packed goods if your workflow requires proof of packing.
6. Tap **Complete packing** or the ship-and-print action.
7. Attach the printed label to the carton.

## Verify the order

Check that the order is no longer in the active picking or packing queue, the label printed correctly, and the shipment details are visible in Starshipit.

## Optional final checks

If your team uses validation tabs, use the **Printed** tab to check labelled cartons before dispatch and the **Shipped** tab to audit selected orders after manifesting.
