> Configure optional FedEx settings for invoices, labels, residential addresses, drop-off types, and address validation.

Configure optional FedEx settings in Starshipit when your shipping workflow needs electronic trade documents, residential flagging, drop-off types, or enhanced address validation.

## Signature and letterhead

FedEx commercial invoices can include your signature and company letterhead.

1. Go to **Settings > Couriers > FedEx**.
2. Open the **Logos** section.
3. Upload your signature and letterhead files.
4. Click **Save**.

Signature files must be PNG files no larger than 240x25 pixels. Letterhead or logo files must be PNG files no larger than 700x50 pixels.

## Electronic trade documents

Electronic Trade Documents submit trade documents electronically to FedEx for customs clearance.

1. Go to **Settings > Couriers > FedEx**.
2. Tick **Use Electronic Trade Documents**.
3. Click **Save**.

When this setting is enabled, Starshipit creates invoices automatically when you print shipping labels.

## Order reference on labels

FedEx labels show the order number in the **ref** field by default. No extra setup is required.

## Residential flagging

Use residential flagging when FedEx orders are being sent to residential addresses.

You can set all FedEx orders as residential by default in **Settings > Couriers > FedEx**. You can also mark individual orders as residential when needed.

## Reason for export

Set a reason for export when FedEx requires export information for international shipments.

1. Go to **Settings > Couriers > FedEx > Reason for Export**.
2. Select the reason from the dropdown list.
3. Click **Save**.

## Cancel a FedEx shipment

You can cancel a FedEx shipment from the Starshipit courier tools.

1. Copy the tracking number for the shipment you want to cancel.
2. Go to **Settings > Couriers > FedEx > Tools**.
3. Enter the tracking number.
4. Click **Cancel**.

## Drop-off types

Drop-off type tells FedEx how it will receive your shipments. Available drop-off types can differ by region. Contact your FedEx account manager if you are unsure which option to use.

Available drop-off types include:

- **Regular pickup**: Your regular scheduled pickup applies.
- **Request courier**: You need to contact FedEx to request a pickup.
- **Business Service Center**: Packages are dropped off at a FedEx Business Service Center.
- **Drop Box**: Packages are dropped off at a FedEx Drop Box.
- **Station**: Packages are dropped off at a FedEx Station.

To set your default drop-off type, go to **Settings > Couriers > FedEx > Select pickup type**. This pickup type applies to all FedEx shipments.

## Enhanced address validation for US shipments

Enhanced address validation checks US receiver addresses with FedEx before label generation. If the address is valid, Starshipit generates the label. If the address is invalid, Starshipit returns an error so you can update the address.

1. Go to **Settings > Couriers > FedEx**.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page.
3. Tick **Enable address validation for United States shipments**.
4. Click **Save**.
