> Connect Asendia, add account-enabled services and check customs, duties and EU product identifiers before printing labels.

Connect Asendia to Starshipit to create shipping labels and track international parcels from a supported shipping origin. Asendia specialises in cross-border e-commerce delivery through their E-PAQ product range.

## Before you begin

You can connect Asendia for shipping from **Australia, Canada, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States**.

Confirm Asendia has enabled the services you need for your shipping origin. You need these credentials from Asendia:

* Username
* Password
* OAuth Client ID
* OAuth Client Secret
* Tracking Access Key
* Tracking API Key

## Set up Asendia in Starshipit

1. Go to **Settings > Couriers > [Add a new courier](https://next.starshipit.com/settings/couriers/add)**.
2. Choose the **shipping origin** that matches the country you ship from.
3. Select **Asendia** from the International courier list.
4. Tick **Enable Asendia**.
5. If Asendia gave you test credentials, tick **Use UAT environment**.
6. Enter your **Username** and **Password**.
7. Enter your **Client ID** and **Client Secret**.
8. Enter your **Tracking Access Key** and **Tracking API Key**.
9. If Asendia supplied separate tracking OAuth credentials, enter the **Tracking Client ID** and **Tracking Client Secret**.
10. Click **Save**.

Reopen **[Asendia settings](https://next.starshipit.com/settings/couriers/setup/asendia)** to check your saved connection.

## Add product codes

Asendia shipments require a product code. Add the product codes enabled on your Asendia account in the **Add Product Codes** area.

Common Asendia product codes include:

| Code | Description |
| ---- | ----------- |
| E-PAQ Standard | Economy international delivery |
| E-PAQ Plus | Standard international delivery with tracking |
| E-PAQ Select | Premium international delivery |
| E-PAQ-SELECT-2 | Premium international delivery (variant) |
| E-PAQ Elite | Express international delivery |

If a product code is missing, contact Asendia to confirm it is enabled for your account.

## Customs declarations

Complete the order's customs details, including HS codes, declared values and reason for export, before printing an international label.

For business-to-consumer shipments from outside the EU to the EU, check the item identifiers too. Each value must be **30 characters or fewer**, including SKUs and Barcodes used as fallbacks. Follow [Set up product identifiers for EU shipments](/articles/1790827200001-set-up-product-identifiers-for-eu-shipments#check-asendia-identifiers) for the fields, fallbacks and shipment types this applies to.

## Configure duties and tax details

For Asendia international shipments, use **Sender Pays Duty** to choose whether you pay duties and taxes. Starshipit sends DDP when this option is selected or the order has an explicit DDP incoterm. Otherwise, it sends DDU.

You can set this on an individual order or automate it with a rule. See [Choose DDP or DDU for international shipments](/articles/4415554835215-configuring-your-shipment-s-ddp-ddu) for the available options.

Add any required IOSS or VAT registration as a [shipper tax number](/articles/360002115215-set-up-shipper-tax-numbers). Starshipit sends the populated IOSS number first, falling back to VAT when IOSS is unavailable. If the receiver must provide a supported tax identifier for customs clearance, add it to the order as a [receiver tax number](/articles/9133191385-receiver-tax-numbers).

## Check your first shipment

Check that the sender country matches your Asendia account, then check the product code, customs details, duties option and any required product identifiers. Print the label, then check that the order has a label and tracking number.

## Cancel a shipment

To request cancellation in the **UI 2.0**:

1. Go to **Settings > Couriers > [Asendia](https://next.starshipit.com/settings/couriers/setup/asendia) > Cancel shipment**.
2. Enter the shipment's **Tracking number**.
3. Click **Cancel shipment**.
4. Check the cancellation confirmation.

## Limitations

* Asendia does not return live shipping rates in Starshipit.
* Each order can have one package containing multiple items. If an order needs more than one package, split it into separate shipments.
* Returns, insurance, signature on delivery, and authority to leave are not available through this integration.

## Troubleshooting

<!-- faq:start -->

<!-- faq:question -->Why can't I save my Asendia settings?<!-- /faq:question -->

Check the credentials supplied by Asendia, then try saving again. If the issue continues, confirm with Asendia that your credentials are active and match the selected environment (UAT or production). Enter separate tracking OAuth credentials only if Asendia supplied them.

<!-- faq:question -->Why are labels not generating?<!-- /faq:question -->

Check that:

* Asendia is enabled in your courier settings.
* Your selected product code is available on your Asendia account.
* The shipment contains only one package.

<!-- faq:question -->Why is tracking not updating?<!-- /faq:question -->

Confirm your **Tracking Access Key** and **Tracking API Key** are correct. If tracking still does not update, contact Starshipit support with the tracking number and consignment ID.
