> Connect and enable a supported USB scale in the Starshipit Desktop Print Application.

Set up a supported USB scale so Starshipit can read package weights while your team processes orders.

## Before you begin

You need:

- Windows or macOS.
- The latest [Starshipit Desktop Print Application](/articles/360000693156-set-up-desktop-print-application).
- A supported Dymo M10, M25, or S50 USB scale.

The integration records weights in kilograms. Contact Starshipit support before purchasing another scale model for this workflow.

## Connect the scale

1. Install and connect the scale using the manufacturer's instructions.
2. Open the Starshipit Desktop Print Application.
3. Open its settings window.
4. Select **Peripherals**.
5. Enable **Scale**.
6. Select your scale model.
7. Click **Save**.

## Verify the connection

Confirm the scale status shows **Connected** in the bottom-left of the Desktop Print Application. If it shows **Disconnected**, check the USB connection and the manufacturer's setup before restarting the application.

To weigh a live shipment, see [Weigh a package using USB scales](/articles/90200000000513-weigh-a-package-using-usb-scales).
