# Set up DHL Parcel UK

Connect a DHL Parcel UK account to Starshipit, configure collection timing, and add the product codes DHL provides before creating labels.

## Before you begin

* Create a DHL Parcel UK account [here](https://send.dhlparcel.co.uk/auth/register) (if you don't already have one).

DHL Parcel UK will provide you an Account Number, a Username and a Password.

## Connect DHL Parcel UK

1. In [Starshipit](https://app2.starshipit.com/), navigate to **Settings** > **Couriers** > **Add a new courier**
2. Select the country you're shipping from and select **DHL Parcel UK**.
3. Tick **Enable DHL Parcel UK**.
4. Enter your Account Number, Username and Password.
5. Click **Save**.
6. Click **Test to ensure it works** to validate that your credentials are correct.

## Set up parcel collections

Choose one of these collection schedules:

* Set collection for a number of minutes after printing an order's label.
* Set a regular daily time that you have booked with DHL Parcel UK. You can set the next collection date in the future. If the date is today or the previously selected date has passed, today's date is used.

You can override the schedule on an individual order. Saving the new value also saves it as the new overall setting.

You cannot set the collection date to be in the past when modifying, and collections are only available Monday to Friday. If it has been agreed with DHL Parcel UK and you intend to dispatch consignments over a weekend or a Bank Holiday, please make your DHL Parcel UK contact aware before proceeding.

## Add your product codes

Add your product codes to complete the integration. The most common product codes are as follows:

### Parcels

Signature Service to the specified address and neighbour:

| Product Code | Product Description |
| --- | --- |
| 1 | Next Day |
| 4 | Saturday |
| 48 | 48 Hour |

Signature Service to the specified address only:

| Product Code | Product Description |
| --- | --- |
| 220 | Next Day |
| 225 | Saturday |

Leave Safe at specified address or signature service to neighbour:

| --- | --- |
| 210 | Next Day |
| 215 | Saturday |
| 72 | 48 Hour |

### Bagit Small (and Express)

Signature Service to the specified address and neighbour:

Signature Service to the specified address only:

- DHL Parcel UK does not send rates to Starshipit, so rates are not displayed on the New Order page. Set up table rates to record the rates DHL charges; Starshipit retrieves those rates through its own API.
- Shipment tracking is not supported for DHL Parcel UK.
- DHL Parcel UK accepts only whole-number package weights. Starshipit rounds the weight up when printing.

## Configure DHL Parcel UK settings

The **Settings**, **Collection**, and **Advanced** tabs include:

| Setting | What it controls |
| --- | --- |
| **Use Staging URL** | Uses the test endpoint. Leave this off for live shipments. |
| **Set pickup for an offset from now** | Schedules collection a number of minutes after printing. |
| **Set pickup for a specific date and time** | Schedules collection for the selected date and time. The date must not be in the past or more than seven days ahead. |
| **Closed for lunch** and **Latest time** | Describes the collection window used by the courier. |
| **Use sender phone number if destination phone not present** | Uses the sender phone as a fallback. |
| **Signature Required (default option)** | Applies signature required by default. |

Use the **Tools** tab to enter a destination and parcel dimensions, then look up available products and prices. Add the returned product codes in the product-code table.
