> Integrate your Cin7 Core platform with Starshipit to import orders and write back tracking information when you print labels.

Connect Cin7 Core and Starshipit to import orders into Starshipit or to request rates and print labels from Cin7 Core. Choose the workflow that matches where your team ships orders.

## Choose your workflow

| Workflow | Configure the connection in | Use when |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Import and ship orders in Starshipit](#import-and-ship-orders-in-starshipit) | Starshipit | Your team manages and ships imported orders in Starshipit. |
| [Get rates and print labels in Cin7 Core](#get-rates-and-print-labels-in-cin7-core) | Cin7 Core | Your team packs and ships sales from Cin7 Core. |

Set up only the connection direction your workflow needs.

## Import and ship orders in Starshipit

Use this connection to bring Cin7 Core orders into Starshipit and send carrier and tracking details back after shipping.

### Get your Cin7 Core credentials

You need your **Cin7 Core Account ID** and **API Key**. To create them:

1. Log in to Cin7 Core.
2. Go to **Integration > Cin7 Core API**.
3. Select the **+** icon to create an application.
4. Copy the API key shown in the prompt.
5. Copy the **Account ID** on the next screen, then select **Save**.

### Connect Cin7 Core

1. Go to **Settings > Integrations > [Add a new integration](https://next.starshipit.com/settings/integrations/add)** and select **Cin7 Core**.
2. Tick **Enable Cin7 Core**.
3. Select **Version 2** for new connections.
4. Enter your Cin7 Core **Account ID** and **Key**.
5. Select **Save**.

### Choose an API version

Use **API Version 2** for new connections. It supports webhooks and lets you choose **Import Sale Fulfillments instead of Sales** to ship fulfilments separately.

| API version | Order-import options |
| --- | --- |
| Version 1 | Uses the legacy API connection for scheduled and manual order imports. It does not support webhook subscriptions or sale-fulfilment import. |
| Version 2 | Supports scheduled and manual imports, webhook subscriptions, and the option to import sale fulfilments instead of the overall sale. |

Use one API version per connection. If you change versions, save the integration and check your import settings before importing orders.

### Configure order imports

In your **[Cin7 Core integration settings](https://next.starshipit.com/settings/integrations/cin7-core)**, choose the options your team needs, then save the connection.

- **Status to import:** Enter the stages your team is ready to ship. Separate multiple statuses with a semicolon.
- **Import Memo/Order Notes:** Memos are not imported by default. Choose a memo option to import it into delivery instructions, or select **Import order note into delivery instructions**.
- **Import additional product information:** Enable this to import product details, including barcodes used by Packing Validation.
- **Use contact field as company name:** Enable this to add the shipping-address contact to the recipient's company field. It does not replace the recipient's contact name.

| Cin7 Core field | Starshipit recipient field |
| --- | --- |
| Customer | Contact name |
| `sale.ShippingAddress.Contact` when the option is enabled | Company |

For separate Advanced Sale fulfilments, follow [Import separate Cin7 Core fulfilments](/articles/1792356012407-import-separate-cin7-core-fulfilments). That guide covers API Version 2, individual fulfilment stages, Ordered or Backordered parent sales, and item and quantity checks.

### Import orders with webhooks

Webhooks let Cin7 Core notify Starshipit when a sale becomes eligible for import, without waiting for the next scheduled import. Your saved **Status to import** choices and other import settings still apply.

Before subscribing, select **API Version 2** and make sure your Cin7 Core account has the **Automation** module.

1. Save the enabled integration with **API Version 2** selected.
2. Find **Webhook subscriptions** in the Cin7 Core integration settings.
3. Select **Subscribe to webhooks**.
4. Check that the subscription status shows **Subscribed**.

Starshipit creates and manages the subscription using your saved connection. You do not need to copy a webhook URL or authentication value into Cin7 Core.

:::important
Webhooks import newly eligible orders only. They do not update orders already imported into Starshipit.
:::

If subscription fails, check that the connection is enabled and saved with API Version 2, and that Cin7 Core's Automation module is available. Refresh the subscription status, then try again.

### Set carrier names for writeback

Starshipit sends carrier and tracking details back to Cin7 Core when orders ship. It uses **DEFAULT Carrier** unless you configure a carrier mapping:

1. Go to **Settings > Integrations > [Cin7 Core](https://next.starshipit.com/settings/integrations/cin7-core) > Courier Mappings**.
2. Select **Add a new mapping**.
3. Choose one of your enabled couriers.
4. Enter the matching courier name defined in Cin7 Core.
5. Select the tick icon to save.

When an order ships with that courier, writeback uses the mapped name.

### Check an imported order

Import an eligible order and compare its items, quantities and recipient details with Cin7 Core. After shipping it, check that Cin7 Core shows its tracking details and the expected carrier name.

Cin7 Core limits API use to **60 calls per 60 seconds**, which can delay imports or writeback. Check the import or writeback result before repeating an operation.

## Get rates and print labels in Cin7 Core

Use Cin7 Core's direct Starshipit shipping-service integration when your team ships from Cin7 Core. Its **Get Shipping Rates** action uses Starshipit's Checkout Rates settings to return services and prices.

### Prepare the connection

- In Cin7 Core, go to **Integrations > Starshipit** and connect using a Starshipit API key.
- Match Cin7 Core's currency and measurement units to your Starshipit account.
- Add valid addresses to your shipping locations and accurate weights and dimensions to products in Cin7 Core.

### Configure Checkout Rates in Starshipit

1. Follow [Set up rates at checkout](/articles/360000179036-set-up-rates-at-checkout) to configure packages and enable the carrier services you want to return.
2. Add any margins, table rates or [checkout-rate rules](/articles/rates-at-checkout/set-up-guides/rules-for-checkout-rates) you need.
3. Go to **Settings > Checkout Rates > Tools**, select **API**, and test with the destination and weight you plan to quote in Cin7 Core.

The test should return the same services Cin7 Core can request with those shipment details. **Courier Mappings** in the import connection affect carrier names written back to Cin7 Core; enable services under **Checkout Rates** to make them available for rate requests.

### Get shipping rates in Cin7 Core

1. Open a Simple Sale or Advanced Sale at the Quote or Order stage.
2. Add products with accurate weights and dimensions.
3. Select **Get Shipping Rates**.
4. Select **Starshipit**.
5. Choose a returned carrier and service, then confirm the rate.

Cin7 Core displays the shipping options returned by Starshipit Checkout Rates. You do not need a separate "cheapest carrier" rule to compare them. If Cin7 Core passes a carrier value that needs to select a specific Starshipit service for label creation, use a Starshipit rule with the **Shipping Method** condition.
