# Does Starshipit automatically update my integrated ecommerce platform?

## What is writeback?

When you generate a label, Starshipit sends the following information back to your selling channel or marketplace:

- **Order status**
- **Tracking number**
- **Carrier name**

This update can happen as soon as you print or when you manifest your orders. The default is set to write back on printing.

To change this to write back on dispatch, go to **Settings** > **Integrations** and enable **Write back order updates on manifest (otherwise it occurs on printing of labels)**.

### Example

1. You have an order in Magento which is imported into Starshipit.
2. The order has a status of **Pending** in Magento.
3. Once you process the order in Starshipit, Magento is automatically updated with the order status and tracking information.
