> Step-by-step guide to setting up NZ Post international.

* Starshipit's [integration with NZ Post](https://www.starshipit.com/partner/new-zealand-post) allows you to use all of [Starshipit's features](https://www.starshipit.com/features) including generation of packing slips and shipping labels, auto-correction of addresses, branded tracking and notifications and many more.
* This article outlines setting up NZ Post International on your Starshipit account.

## How it works

Starshipit is fully integrated with NZ Post services including their domestic, international and express offerings. These three services are represented as three different couriers in Starshipit:

* NZ Post Domestic
* NZ Post International
* NZ Post Express

To use any of these couriers on Starshipit, you will need to request commercial access to the NZ Post API.

## Setting up NZ Post

#### 1. Request commercial access to use NZ Post with Starshipit

To use NZ Post with Starshipit, you must have commercial access to the NZ Post API.

* **If you already have commercial access:**
  Please contact our [support team](https://help.starshipit.com). Our team will liaise with NZ Post on your behalf to request your respective API Key (Client ID) and API Secret (Client Secret).
* **If you don't have commercial access:**
  Once you [sign up](https://bss.nzpost.co.nz/busn-self-service/) with a NZ Post account, please tell us your NZ Post Account Number. We then use this to obtain your API credentials on your behalf.

:::note
The process to request commercial access only needs to be completed once if you are setting up all three services in Starshipit and using the same account number for all three.
:::

#### 2. Enter your API details in Starshipit

Typically, this setup will be completed by the Starshipit team on your behalf. However, if you already have your API Key and API Secret and wish to complete the setup yourself, follow the steps below:

1. Go to **Settings** > **Couriers** > **Add New Courier** > **NZ Post International**.
2. Tick **Enable NZ Post International**.
3. Enter your Account Number, Client ID, and Client Secret.
4. Set your Default Export Type.
5. Click **Save**.

#### 3. Add your product codes

Once Starshipit has confirmed NZ Post International is available on your account, you should check that your preferred services are available in the courier settings.

1. Go to **Settings** > **Couriers** > **NZ Post International** > **Settings**.
2. Select your new Product Code in the Drop-down menu.
3. Click **Add**.
4. The new product code is now added.
## Returns

When you create a return from Australia to New Zealand, you’ll see eligible return services from Courier Select AU Returns (ICOUSRAUS) alongside EasyReturns.

## Use Photo Required

**Photo Required** asks NZ Post to capture a delivery photo when a parcel is left at the delivery address. It is available only when NZ Post offers it for the selected international service.

1. Open the order and select an NZ Post International service.
2. Check the delivery options for **Photo Required**.
3. Select **Photo Required** if it is available, then save or print the order.

Starshipit uses the option returned for that service and includes its charge in the quote. If you change to a service that does not offer Photo Required, the option is not available.

You can also use the existing **Photo Required (default option)** courier setting or **Set Photo Required** rule action. They apply only when the selected service supports the option. Photo Required cannot be used on a return label or together with **Signature Required**.
## Troubleshooting

#### Error: The test returns invalid accounts

Please carefully review the credentials you have entered and check for any possible errors or incorrect spaces. If you are still experiencing issues, please reach out to our [support team](https://help.starshipit.com) for further assistance.
