# Choose a courier for bulky goods

If your goods are too large or heavy for a standard parcel service, choose a courier service that matches how the goods are packed and where they are going. Starshipit connects to the services below, but the courier decides whether a particular shipment is eligible under your account.

This is not an exhaustive list. Other couriers and services in Starshipit may support bulky goods, depending on your account and the shipment. A courier connection or a returned rate does not by itself confirm that the goods can be collected and delivered.

## Check your shipment before booking

1. Measure and weigh **each packed item**, including its pallet if it has one.
2. Check the destination, delivery type, packaging, dimensions and weight against the courier's current service requirements.
3. Confirm that the specific service or product code is enabled on your courier account. Follow the linked setup guide, or ask the courier for the account and setup details you need in Starshipit.
4. Create a test shipment with the actual package details and destination. Check the returned service and label before booking live freight.

If you are unsure whether the courier will accept an item, ask your courier account manager about that shipment and service. They can also confirm requirements for residential delivery, rural areas and handling equipment.
