Connect eBay through Starshipit, import listing and variation details into Starshipit WMS, and send WMS inventory quantities back to each connected eBay store. ## Before you begin You need: * An enabled eBay integration on the Starshipit account connected to WMS. If needed, [connect eBay to Starshipit](/articles/204502835-connect-ebay-to-starshipit) first. * Permission to manage products and commerce settings in WMS. * A unique, non-empty SKU for each listing or variation you want WMS to manage within an eBay store. * Accurate WMS stock quantities before you enable inventory writeback. Decide whether WMS or another system owns your eBay inventory. Writeback replaces the linked eBay quantity with the WMS quantity; importing product details does not establish your warehouse stock levels. ## Import products from eBay 1. Go to **Products** in WMS. 2. Open the actions menu and select **Sync from eBay**. 3. Select the **eBay Store** to import. 4. Choose the product fields to import. **SKU** is required; you can also import the title, image and sale price. 5. Optionally select **Include variant title in product name** to append the variation title to the product name. 6. Enter a small set of test SKUs in **SKU Filters**, separated by commas or new lines. Leave **Page Number** empty to search every page, or enter a page number to import only that page. 7. Select **Start Sync**. 8. Review the background sync result, then open an imported product and confirm its SKU and eBay connection. The import matches products by SKU and overwrites the selected fields on existing matching products. WMS links the first listing or variation for each SKU returned by that store. Additional entries with the same SKU, and entries without a SKU, are skipped and reported in the sync warnings. After checking your test products, repeat the import with **SKU Filters** and **Page Number** empty to import all products returned by that store. Repeat for each connected eBay store you want WMS to manage. Importing the same SKU from another store links that store to the matching WMS product. ## Configure inventory writeback 1. Go to **System > Settings > Inventory Writeback**. 2. Find **eBay Inventory Sync**. 3. Check the store name and integration number for each row. 4. Turn on **Auto writeback** for each store WMS should update. 5. Wait for the confirmation that the store settings were saved. Each store has its own control. eBay does not require a writeback-location selection. Only products with an enabled eBay product link and an enabled store target can be updated, including during a manual sync. WMS queues automatic updates after supported stock movements. Updates run in the background, so an eBay error does not undo the warehouse transaction. Check **System > Process Logs** to investigate failed updates. ## Verify with a manual inventory sync A manual sync sends WMS quantities to the linked listings in enabled eBay stores. If a product is linked to multiple enabled stores, check each store's listing after the sync. 1. Go to **Inventory**. 2. Select a test product you imported from eBay and check its WMS quantity is correct. 3. Select **Sync to eBay**. 4. Review the selected product and quantity. 5. Select **Sync to eBay** to queue the update. 6. Go to **System > Process Logs** and check the eBay writeback result. A queued confirmation means the update is waiting to run, not that eBay has accepted it. 7. Open the linked listing or variation in eBay and confirm the quantity was updated. To check automatic writeback, complete a controlled stock adjustment for the test product, then check the process log and eBay listing again. Once verified, you can use a manual sync for more linked products when reconciling inventory. ## Troubleshooting | Problem | What to check | | --- | --- | | No eBay stores are available | Confirm eBay is connected and enabled on the Starshipit account used by WMS, then refresh the WMS page. | | A store shows **Disconnected** | Check its eBay connection in Starshipit. Reconnect it before enabling writeback, or turn off its saved writeback setting if WMS should no longer update it. | | A product is missing after import | Check the SKU is not empty, review duplicate-SKU warnings, and check your store, page number and SKU filters. | | Existing product details changed | The import overwrites selected fields on matching SKUs. Restore the affected values and select only the fields you want to update on the next import. | | A product is skipped during writeback | Confirm you imported it from the intended store and that both its eBay link and the store's **Auto writeback** setting are enabled. | | One store updates but another does not | Import the product from each store and enable each store's writeback setting. Only the first linked listing for a SKU within each store is updated. | | A queued update does not change eBay stock | Check **System > Process Logs** for the final result, including connection or listing errors.
