# Set up Unleashed with Starshipit WMS

> Import Unleashed purchase orders into Starshipit WMS and configure SKU-based inventory writeback to an Unleashed warehouse.

Connect Unleashed through Starshipit, import selected Unleashed purchase orders into Starshipit WMS, and write WMS inventory back by SKU to an Unleashed warehouse.

## Before you begin

You need:

* An Unleashed account connected to the current Starshipit account.
* Permission to manage products, purchase orders and commerce settings in WMS.
* WMS product SKUs that exactly match the corresponding Unleashed product codes.
* The Unleashed warehouse code that will receive inventory updates.

Decide whether WMS or another system owns inventory in the destination Unleashed warehouse before enabling writeback. WMS uses each product's SKU as the Unleashed product code.

## Prepare matching products

Create or import the products into WMS before importing Unleashed purchase orders. Each WMS SKU must match the Unleashed product code, including any punctuation.

An Unleashed purchase-order line without a matching WMS product is skipped. If none of an order's lines can be resolved, that purchase order is not imported.

## Import purchase orders from Unleashed

1. Go to **Purchase Orders** in WMS.
2. Select **Import from Unleashed**.
3. Search or filter the Unleashed purchase orders by status.
4. Select the purchase orders you want to import.
5. Choose **Draft** if the orders need review, or **Created** if they are ready for receiving.
6. Select **Import**.
7. Review the result for any orders or lines that could not be imported.

WMS matches purchase-order lines to products by SKU. It matches existing suppliers by name and creates a supplier when a valid matching name does not already exist. Imported quantities are whole units.

## Configure Unleashed inventory writeback

1. Go to **System > Settings > Inventory Writeback**.
2. Find **Unleashed Inventory Sync**.
3. Enter the exact **Unleashed warehouse code**.
4. Move away from the field to save the warehouse code.
5. Turn on **Auto Writeback**.

WMS sends inventory writeback attempts to that warehouse using each WMS SKU as the Unleashed product code.

## Understand automatic writeback

After a supported receipt, pick, shipment, manual adjustment or stocktake variance completes, WMS queues the Unleashed update in the background. The warehouse transaction does not wait for Unleashed and is not rolled back if the update fails.

If a WMS SKU does not exist in Unleashed, the writeback can fail. Review **System > Process Logs** before changing the WMS transaction.

## Run a manual inventory writeback

1. Go to **Inventory**.
2. Select the products you want to update.
3. Select **Writeback to Unleashed**.
4. Review the SKUs and current WMS quantities.
5. Select **Writeback to Unleashed** to queue the updates.
6. Go to **System > Process Logs** and confirm the updates completed.

Unlike providers that store a product link in WMS, Unleashed writeback evaluates selected products by SKU. Products missing from Unleashed can fail during processing.

## Verify the integration

1. Choose a WMS test product whose SKU matches an Unleashed product code.
2. Enter the destination Unleashed warehouse code.
3. Enable **Auto Writeback**.
4. Complete a controlled stock adjustment in WMS.
5. Confirm the quantity changed in the selected Unleashed warehouse.
6. Import a small Unleashed purchase order and confirm its supplier, products, quantities and status in WMS.
7. Check **System > Process Logs** for the Unleashed results.

## Troubleshooting

| Problem | What to check |
| --- | --- |
| Unleashed does not appear in WMS settings | Confirm Unleashed is connected to the current Starshipit account, then refresh the settings page. |
| **Auto Writeback** cannot be enabled | Enter and save an **Unleashed warehouse code** first. |
| A writeback fails for one product | Confirm the WMS SKU exactly matches an Unleashed product code and the product exists in the destination warehouse. |
| A purchase-order line is skipped | Confirm its Unleashed product code matches a WMS SKU and its quantity is greater than zero. |
| A purchase order is not imported | Confirm it has a supplier name and at least one line that resolves to a WMS product. Review the import result for the exact reason. |
| Inventory updates the wrong warehouse | Check the warehouse code in **Unleashed Inventory Sync** before sending another update. |
