Connect Cin7 Omni through Starshipit's legacy integration settings, import Cin7 Omni products into Starshipit WMS, and write WMS inventory back to a selected Cin7 Omni branch. Starshipit WMS uses the Cin7 Omni public API credentials saved in Starshipit. It does not use the dedicated Cin7 Omni API connection. ## Before you begin You need: * A Cin7 Omni account connected to the current Starshipit account using the legacy Cin7 integration and public API credentials. * Permission to manage products and commerce settings in WMS. * Unique, non-empty SKUs on the Cin7 Omni products you want to manage. * An active Cin7 Omni branch that will receive WMS inventory updates. If the legacy Cin7 integration is already connected using public API credentials, continue to [Import products from Cin7 Omni](#import-products-from-cin7-omni). :::important The **Use dedicated API (recommended)** option in Starshipit does not support this WMS workflow. Cin7 Omni and Cin7 Core also use different WMS integrations. Use [Set up Cin7 Core with Starshipit WMS](/articles/14700000000035-set-up-cin7-core-with-starshipit-wms) if your account uses Cin7 Core or DEAR Inventory. ::: ## Configure the legacy Cin7 Omni connection 1. In Cin7 Omni, select the settings cogwheel. 2. Go to **Integrations > API v1**. 3. Copy the **API Username** shown on the **API Setup** page. 4. Enter a name for the connection, such as `Starshipit`, then save it. 6. Copy the **API Key** from the confirmation page. This is the **API connection key** you will enter in Starshipit. In Starshipit, go to **Settings > Integrations > Add New > Cin7 Omni**. 8. Turn on **Enable Cin7 Omni**, select **Use Public API (deprecated)**, then enter the API username and connection key. 9. Test the connection, then select **Save**. For more information about the legacy connection, see [Connect legacy Cin7 to Starshipit](/articles/217503906-connect-legacy-cin7-to-starshipit). ## Import products from Cin7 Omni 1. Go to **Products** in WMS. 2. Open the actions menu and select **Sync from Cin7 Omni**. 3. Choose the product fields to import. 4. Optionally enter SKU filters to limit the import. 5. Select **Start Sync**. 6. Review the result, then open a product and confirm its Cin7 Omni source and SKU. Products are matched by SKU. The import creates the Cin7 Omni product link used for inventory writeback. ## Configure Cin7 Omni inventory writeback 1. Go to **System > Settings > Inventory Writeback**. 2. Find **Cin7 Omni Inventory Sync**. 3. Select the Cin7 Omni branch that should receive WMS stock changes. 4. Turn on **Auto writeback**. Only products connected to Cin7 Omni are written to the selected branch. This commerce integration handles product import and inventory writeback. It does not provide the direct catalogue, Advanced Purchase order, webhook and reconciliation flows available in the separate Cin7 Core integration. ## Understand automatic writeback After a supported receipt, pick, shipment, manual adjustment or stocktake variance completes, WMS queues the Cin7 Omni update in the background. The warehouse transaction does not wait for Cin7 Omni and is not rolled back if the update fails. You can disable Cin7 Omni writeback for an individual product when WMS should not manage that product's branch inventory. ## Run a manual inventory writeback 1. Go to **Inventory**. 2. Select the Cin7 Omni-linked products you want to update. 3. Select **Writeback to Cin7 Omni**. 4. Review the products and current WMS quantities. 5. Select **Sync to Cin7** to queue the writeback. 6. Go to **System > Process Logs** and confirm the updates completed. Products without an enabled Cin7 Omni link are skipped. ## Verify the integration 1. Import a test product from Cin7 Omni. 2. Select the writeback branch. 3. Enable **Auto writeback**. 4. Complete a controlled stock adjustment in WMS. 5. Confirm the quantity changed in the selected Cin7 Omni branch. 6. Check **System > Process Logs** for the Cin7 Omni result. ## Troubleshooting | Problem | What to check | | --- | --- | | Cin7 Omni does not appear in WMS settings | Confirm the legacy Cin7 integration is enabled for the current Starshipit account and **Use Public API (deprecated)** is selected, then refresh the settings page. | | No branches are available | Confirm the public API username and connection key are saved and the connected Cin7 Omni account has an active branch, then refresh **Cin7 Omni Inventory Sync**. | | **Auto writeback** is unavailable | Select an active Cin7 Omni branch first. | | A product is skipped | Confirm it was imported or linked to Cin7 Omni and its provider writeback has not been disabled. | | A quantity does not change | Confirm the selected branch is correct and check **System > Process Logs** for the returned Cin7 Omni error. | | You expected purchase orders or stock reconciliation | Confirm whether your system is Cin7 Omni or Cin7 Core.
