> Import WooCommerce products into Starshipit WMS and configure automatic or manual inventory writeback for linked products.

Connect WooCommerce through Starshipit, import WooCommerce products into Starshipit WMS, and keep linked product inventory aligned with WMS.

## Before you begin

You need:

* A WooCommerce store connected to the current Starshipit account.
* Permission to manage products and commerce settings in WMS.
* Unique, non-empty SKUs on the WooCommerce products or variations you want to manage.

If WooCommerce is not connected yet, [connect WooCommerce to Starshipit](/articles/203826249-connect-woocommerce-to-starshipit) first.

:::important
Decide whether WMS or another system owns WooCommerce inventory before enabling writeback. A manual WMS sync sends the current WMS on-hand quantity to WooCommerce.
:::

## Import products from WooCommerce

1. Go to **Products** in WMS.
2. Open the actions menu and select **Sync from WooCommerce**.
3. Choose the product fields to import.
4. Optionally enter SKU filters to limit the import.
5. Select **Start Sync**.
6. Review the result, then open a product and confirm its WooCommerce source and SKU.

Products are matched by SKU. The import creates the WooCommerce link WMS needs for inventory writeback.

## Configure WooCommerce inventory writeback

1. Go to **System > Settings > Inventory Writeback**.
2. Find **WooCommerce Inventory Sync**.
3. Confirm **Connected WooCommerce** is shown.
4. Turn on **Auto Writeback**.

WooCommerce does not require a WMS writeback-location selection. Only linked WooCommerce products are updated.

## Understand automatic writeback

After a supported receipt, pick, shipment, manual adjustment or stocktake variance completes, WMS queues the WooCommerce update in the background. The warehouse transaction does not wait for WooCommerce and is not rolled back if the update fails.

You can disable WooCommerce writeback for an individual product when WMS should not manage that product's WooCommerce inventory.

## Run a manual inventory sync

1. Go to **Inventory**.
2. Select the WooCommerce-linked products you want to update.
3. Select **Sync to WooCommerce**.
4. Review the products and current WMS quantities.
5. Select **Sync to WooCommerce** to queue the writeback.
6. Go to **System > Process Logs** and confirm the updates completed.

Products without an enabled WooCommerce link are skipped.

## Verify the integration

1. Import a test product from WooCommerce.
2. Enable **Auto Writeback**.
3. Complete a controlled stock adjustment in WMS.
4. Confirm the product's WooCommerce stock quantity changed.
5. Check **System > Process Logs** for the WooCommerce result.

## Troubleshooting

| Problem | What to check |
| --- | --- |
| WooCommerce does not appear in WMS settings | Confirm WooCommerce is connected to the current Starshipit account, then refresh the settings page. |
| A product is missing after import | Confirm the WooCommerce product or variation has a unique, non-empty SKU and review the product-sync result. |
| A product is skipped during writeback | Confirm it has a WooCommerce link and its provider writeback has not been disabled. |
| The WMS quantity does not appear in WooCommerce | Confirm WooCommerce stock management is enabled for the product, then check **System > Process Logs**. |
| Writeback fails intermittently | Review the process log for a WooCommerce API, authentication or rate-limit response before retrying. |

If the problem continues, contact [Starshipit support](https://help.starshipit.com) with the WMS account, WooCommerce store, SKU and approximate time of the sync.
