> Import BigCommerce products into Starshipit WMS and configure location-aware inventory writeback for each connected store.

Connect BigCommerce through Starshipit, import BigCommerce products into Starshipit WMS, and keep each connected store's inventory aligned with WMS.

## Before you begin

You need:

* A BigCommerce store connected to the current Starshipit account or an eligible source account.
* Permission to manage products and commerce settings in WMS.
* Unique, non-empty SKUs on the BigCommerce variants you want to manage.
* An active BigCommerce inventory location for each writeback target.

If BigCommerce is not connected yet, [connect BigCommerce to Starshipit](/articles/204502815-connect-bigcommerce-to-starshipit) first.

:::important
Decide whether WMS or another system owns BigCommerce inventory before enabling writeback. A manual WMS sync sends the current WMS on-hand quantity to BigCommerce.
:::

## Import products from BigCommerce

1. Go to **Products** in WMS.
2. Open the actions menu and select **Sync from BigCommerce**.
3. Choose the product fields to import.
4. Optionally enter SKU filters to limit the import.
5. Select **Start Sync**.
6. Review the result, then open a product and confirm its BigCommerce source and SKU.

Products are matched by SKU. The import creates the BigCommerce product or variant link used for inventory writeback.

## Configure BigCommerce inventory writeback

1. Go to **System > Settings > Inventory Writeback**.
2. Find **BigCommerce Inventory Sync**.
3. Review the default store and any linked source stores.
4. Select a **Writeback Location** for each store WMS should update.
5. Turn on **Auto Writeback** for each configured store.

The default row is used when a product is not assigned to a specific source store. A linked row uses that product's source Starshipit account and BigCommerce store.

Only products connected to BigCommerce and assigned to a target with an active location can be written back.

## Understand automatic writeback

After a supported receipt, pick, shipment, manual adjustment or stocktake variance completes, WMS queues the BigCommerce update in the background. The warehouse transaction does not wait for BigCommerce and is not rolled back if the update fails.

You can disable BigCommerce writeback for an individual product when WMS should not manage that product's store inventory.

## Run a manual inventory sync

1. Go to **Inventory**.
2. Select the BigCommerce-linked products you want to update.
3. Select **Sync to BigCommerce**.
4. Review the products and current WMS quantities.
5. Select **Sync to BigCommerce** to queue the writeback.
6. Go to **System > Process Logs** and confirm the updates completed.

Products without an enabled BigCommerce link and writeback target are skipped.

## Verify the integration

1. Import a test product from BigCommerce.
2. Select its store's writeback location.
3. Enable **Auto Writeback** for that store.
4. Complete a controlled stock adjustment in WMS.
5. Confirm the quantity changed at the selected BigCommerce location.
6. Check **System > Process Logs** for the BigCommerce result.

## Troubleshooting

| Problem | What to check |
| --- | --- |
| BigCommerce does not appear in WMS settings | Confirm the integration is connected to the current or eligible source Starshipit account, then refresh the settings page. |
| No stores are listed | Import products from BigCommerce or confirm the current Starshipit account has a BigCommerce connection. |
| No locations are available | Confirm the BigCommerce store has an active inventory location, then refresh **BigCommerce Inventory Sync**. |
| **Auto Writeback** is unavailable | Select a **Writeback Location** for the target first. |
| A product is skipped | Confirm the product was imported or linked to BigCommerce and its provider writeback has not been disabled. |
| A quantity does not change | Check the product's source store, selected location and **System > Process Logs** for the returned BigCommerce error. |

If the problem continues, contact [Starshipit support](https://help.starshipit.com) with the WMS account, BigCommerce store, SKU, selected location and approximate time of the sync.
