WMS: Settings reference

A complete reference for every tab and setting on the WMS Settings page, including Fulfillment, Orders, Inventory, Workspace, Integrations, and System.

Fulfillment

Picking

Setting What it does
Enable Tote Picking Batch picking into totes — one tote per order — with a pack job created per tote on completion.
Require Pick Job ID On Create Forces manual entry of a Pick Job ID instead of auto-generating one.
Require Location Scan Before Pick Requires a source-location scan before each pick line can be confirmed.
Barcode Scanning Enables scanner input in picking and packing.
Scan History Shows a running history of scanned items during a job.
Quantity +/- Buttons Shows manual quantity buttons in picking flows.
Mark Complete Button Manually completes individual pick lines without scanning.
Complete All Lines Button Completes all remaining pick lines in one action.

Packing

Setting What it does
Allow Partial Packing Allows labels to be printed before the full quantity is packed.
Dedicated Ship Process Separates packing from shipping — labels are printed from the shipping dashboard after packing is confirmed.

Print

Setting What it does
Open Labels In Browser Print Dialog Opens labels in the browser print dialog. When off, labels download as PDFs.
Delay Printing During Packing Shows a countdown before labels print, giving packers a moment to cancel.
Auto-Save Carrier On Print Saves carrier or service changes to Starshipit automatically before printing.

Orders

Setting What it does
Enable Routed-Order Management Actions Shows manual routed-order actions — reject pending routed orders or return released orders to the parent pool.
Enable Automatic Order Routing Auto-assigns eligible pending orders to configured child stores.

Each routing store also has per-store flags: Priority (routing preference order), Included (participates in routing), Auto-Route (receives orders automatically), and Temporarily Unavailable (excluded from routing without being removed from config).

Setting What it does
Leave Shipment Stock Movements As-Is When Cancelling Orders Prevents stock movements from being reversed when an order is cancelled or archived.

Inventory

Setting What it does
Default Allocation Rule Default rule for new products: FIFO, LIFO, FEFO, LEFO, or Specific Lot. Overridable per product.

Commerce sync — the sections below only appear when the relevant integration is connected.

Setting What it does
Shopify: Writeback Location Shopify location used for inventory writeback (set per store).
Shopify: Auto Writeback Pushes inventory to Shopify automatically after each WMS movement.
Shopify: Daily Sync Runs a nightly full inventory sync to Shopify.
BigCommerce: Writeback Location BigCommerce location to receive inventory writeback (set per store).
BigCommerce: Auto Writeback Pushes inventory to BigCommerce automatically after each WMS movement.
WooCommerce: Auto Writeback Pushes inventory to WooCommerce automatically after each WMS movement.

Workspace

Setting What it does
Theme Mode UI colour theme: System, Light, or Dark.
Interface Scale Dashboard density and sizing.
Desktop Apps Download links for the Windows and macOS companion apps.
Mobile Apps Download links for the Android and iOS apps.

Integrations

Starshipit Account Information — view-only fields showing Account ID/Name, Account Type, Plan, Status, Timezone, UTC Offset, Currency, and WMS Addon Status.

Setting What it does
Enable WMS Integration Turns the Starshipit ↔ WMS connection on or off.
Expand Bundle Items Expands bundles into component items when printing shipments.
WMS Instance Override Points this account to a different account's WMS instance — use when multiple child accounts share one warehouse.

System

Setting What it does
Reset Transactional Data Deletes orders, jobs, and stock movements while keeping configuration intact. Use during testing or after a pilot.
