> Assemble component products into kits or bundles on the warehouse floor using the Starshipit WMS mobile app.

Use the mobile app to complete kitting jobs — collecting component products and assembling them into a finished kit or bundle SKU.

Kitting does not require equipment (no trolley or cart needed).

## When kitting is used

Kitting applies when you use **require stock** bundles — bundle SKUs that need to be physically assembled before they can be allocated and shipped. Stock for the finished kit is built from its component SKUs.

## How it works

1. Open **Jobs**, then select a kitting job from **All Jobs** or **My Jobs**.
2. Review the component list — the job shows each component SKU, its required quantity, and source location.
3. Go to the first component location.
4. Scan the **source location** to confirm placement, then scan or confirm the **product** and quantity.
5. Repeat for each component until all are collected.
6. Select the **Kit Assembly Location** where the finished kits will be assembled.
7. Select **Complete Kitting** when the assembly location is **Bulk Storage** or **Pick Face**. The kits remain at that location.
8. Choose how the kits should leave a temporary assembly location:
   * Select **Place in storage**, then choose a **Bulk Storage** or **Pick Face** location to move the kits there immediately.
   * Select **Create putaway job** when that assembly location supports putaway. The kits remain reserved at the assembly location until the putaway job is completed.
9. Select **Continue to Placement** to complete the job and apply the selected follow-up action.

The component quantities are reduced and the kit SKU inventory is increased at its final location. When you create a putaway job, the completed kits stay at the assembly location until that job moves them to storage.

## Expedited kitting

If you need to assemble kits urgently from the desktop, use **Expedited Kitting** to create and execute a kitting job in one step. See [Expedited fulfilment](/articles/14700000000013-expedited-fulfilment-pack-now-batch-pack-now) for details.
