# Put away and replenish stock in WMS Mobile

> Complete advisory or routed putaway jobs and replenish pick faces with the Starshipit WMS mobile app.

Both putaway and replenishment are movement jobs — you pick stock from one location and confirm where it's going next. The exact steps depend on the job type and the putaway destination mode.

Both job types use equipment such as a trolley or cart. Advisory putaway and replenishment use the active equipment selected in **Settings > Equipment**. For enforced putaway, you select compatible equipment when you start the job, and WMS locks it to that job.

## Putaway

**What it is:** Moving received stock from a staging or receiving location to its final storage location.

Putaway jobs are created after stock is received against a purchase order.

### Check which putaway flow applies

The job's destination mode determines the steps you follow:

| Mode | How destinations work |
| --- | --- |
| **Advisory** | WMS suggests destinations. You select each staged item and choose any valid destination. |
| **Enforced** | WMS assigns destinations and guides you through a gather phase followed by an ordered placement route. |

The mode is set when the putaway job is created. Changing **Enforce Putaway Locations** in the browser WMS does not change existing jobs.

### Complete an advisory putaway job

1. Open **Jobs**, then select a putaway job from **All Jobs** or **My Jobs**.
2. Go to the staging location shown in the job.
3. Scan the **source location** to confirm you are in the right spot.
4. Scan or confirm the **product** and quantity to pick up.
5. Move to the **destination location**.
6. Scan the **destination location** to confirm placement.
7. Submit the putaway line.

Repeat for each line in the job. When all lines are done, the job completes.

### Complete an enforced putaway route

1. Open **Jobs**, then select the putaway job from **All Jobs** or **My Jobs**.
2. Select the compatible equipment you will use to collect the stock.
3. Follow the planned lines and scan or confirm each item to gather it from staging onto the equipment.
4. Move to the destination shown for the first placement group.
5. Scan or confirm the assigned destination.
6. Place the directed stock, then confirm the placement.
7. Follow the remaining destinations in the order shown until the job is complete.

When several lines use the same destination, WMS keeps that destination verified while you place those lines. You must verify the location again when the route moves to a different destination.

Select **New location** if an assigned destination cannot be used. WMS replans that line and refreshes the remaining route.

Enforced putaway only accepts the destination assigned by WMS. Do not move the stock to a different location without selecting **New location** first.

## Replenishment

**What it is:** Moving stock from a bulk storage location to a pick face to keep the forward-picking area stocked.

Replenishment jobs are triggered automatically when a pick face falls below its minimum threshold, or they can be created manually from the desktop.

1. Open **Jobs**, then select a replenishment job from **All Jobs** or **My Jobs**.
2. Go to the **bulk storage location** shown in the job.
3. Scan the source location and product.
4. Pick the required quantity.
5. Move to the **pick face location**.
6. Scan the pick face location to confirm you are putting stock in the right place.
7. Submit.

The pick face inventory is updated once the job is completed.
