# Set up Starshipit WMS Mobile

> Install the correct Starshipit WMS Mobile app, sign in, configure scanning and equipment, and verify your WMS workspace.

Set up **Starshipit WMS Mobile** to complete WMS jobs, receive and move stock, and manage inventory from a handheld device. For standard Starshipit orders, use [Starshipit Pick & Pack](/articles/14427779060367-set-up-the-pick-pack-mobile-app) instead.

In the standard workflow, finishing a pick job does not automatically open packing. Completing the pick creates the pack job, then returns the user to the picking dashboard. The pack job is started separately from **My Jobs**, **Open Jobs**, or the mobile packing entry points.

## Installing the app

In WMS, go to **System > Settings**, open the **Workspace** tab, and scroll to **Mobile Apps**:

* **iOS** - tap **Download for iOS** to open the App Store listing.
* **Android** - tap the Android download link.

Look for **Starshipit WMS Mobile** in the store listing.

Mobile devices are automatically redirected to a mobile-optimised experience when accessing WMS from a phone or tablet browser.

## Signing in

Sign in with your Starshipit WMS credentials (the same username and password you use on the desktop). Your role and permissions carry over from the desktop app.

If your workspace uses mobile sign-in codes, an admin can find the current code in **System > Settings > Workspace**. Use the code when the mobile app asks you to connect to the workspace.

## First-time setup

When you sign in for the first time, the app walks through a short setup:

1. **Choose job types** - select which types of jobs you will work on (picking, receiving, replenishment, etc). This filters what appears in your job lists.
2. **Choose scanner mode** - select **Camera scanner** or **Physical scanner** depending on your hardware.
3. **Choose equipment** - select a trolley, cart, or other equipment location if required for your job types. Kitting does not require equipment.
4. Confirm and enter the app.

You can change all of these settings later from the **Settings** tab.

## Main navigation

The app has four tabs:

| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| **My Jobs** | Jobs currently assigned to you |
| **Open Jobs** | Unassigned jobs available to claim |
| **Actions** | Quick actions for receiving stock and inventory tasks |
| **Settings** | Account, preferences, scanner config, equipment, and support tools |

## How pick and pack flow on mobile

For normal outbound work, mobile follows a two-step job flow:

1. Complete the **pick job**.
2. Return to the jobs list or packing entry point.
3. Open or claim the separately created **pack job**.

This is different from **Pack Now**, which is an expedited flow designed to move an order straight into packing rather than following the standard pick-then-pack sequence.

## Settings reference

| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Account** | View account details and sign out |
| **Role preferences** | Choose which job types appear in your job lists |
| **Equipment** | Set your active equipment location, or clear it |
| **Manual quantity controls** | Enable or disable manual +/- buttons on pick screens |
| **Scanner mode** | Switch between camera and physical scanner |
| **Show keyboard** | Show the keyboard in physical scanner mode |
| **Auto-focus scan input** | Auto-focus the scan input field in physical scanner mode |
| **Theme** | System, light, or dark |
| **Workspace sign-in code** | Connects the app to the correct WMS workspace where enabled |
| **Support tools** | View, export, or delete mobile error logs |
