> Skip the standard picking workflow and send orders straight to a packing bench using Pack Now, Release to Pack or Batch Pack Now.

Pack Now, Release to Pack and Batch Pack Now let you skip the standard picking workflow and send orders straight to a packing bench. Stock is still allocated and all inventory movements are recorded - the only thing that changes is your team doesn't scan each pick individually.

Use these flows when:

* An order is urgent and needs to ship immediately.
* Your picker and packer are the same person.
* You want to consolidate picking into one warehouse pass at the end of the day.

Use **Pack Now** when you want to move directly into packing. It is the expedited exception to the normal workflow - it is not the standard mobile pick completion path.

## Before you begin

You need permission to manage fulfilment and at least one **Packing Bench** location. These single-order actions use the first available packing bench automatically. Check the bench shown in the resulting pack job before bringing stock to it.

## Pack Now

Use **Pack Now** to fast-track a single order.

1. Find an eligible order on the **Orders** dashboard.
2. Open its row actions and select **Pack Now**.
3. Check the order and packing bench in the pack job that opens.

WMS starts the pack job immediately. Your team retrieves the items from the shelf and brings them to the bench.

The **Pack Now** action is available from eligible order rows on the orders dashboard.

## Release to Pack

Use **Release to Pack** on the web Orders dashboard when you want to prepare packing work for later. It skips the standard pick job, like **Pack Now**, but leaves the pack job ready to start.

1. Find an eligible order on the **Orders** dashboard.
2. Open its row actions and select **Release to Pack**.
3. Check the success message, then find the ready pack job in **Jobs**.

You stay on the Orders dashboard after release. Start the pack job separately when your team is ready to retrieve and pack the items. If WMS offers a partial release, review the available quantities before confirming.

## Batch Pack Now

Use **Batch Pack Now** to fast-track multiple orders at once.

1. Select the orders you want to expedite.
2. Select **Create Batch**, then choose a packing bench in **Create Pick Job**.
3. Select **Generate Packing Summary** to download the combined item list. This is required by default; it is optional when **Require Packing Summary Before Batch Pack Now** is off under **System > Settings > Picking > Pick Jobs**.
4. Select **Batch Pack Now** to create the packing work, then check the selected orders and bench in the resulting job.

If you generate the summary, your team can use it to collect everything in one warehouse pass, then sort items per order at the bench during packing.

## Kitting

**Kitting** is the process of assembling component products into a finished bundle or kit. If you use *require stock* bundles that need to be pre-built before shipping, you manage this from the **Kitting** section in WMS.

For urgent situations, use **Expedited Kitting** to create and execute a kitting job in a single step - select the bundle, set the quantity and destination, and submit.

## FAQ

<!-- faq:start -->

<!-- faq:question -->Does skipping picking affect my inventory accuracy?<!-- /faq:question -->

No. WMS still allocates stock and records all movements. The only difference is your team doesn't scan each item during picking - quantities are confirmed at the packing bench instead.

<!-- faq:question -->Can I choose which packing bench to use?<!-- /faq:question -->

**Batch Pack Now** lets you choose a packing bench. The single-order **Pack Now** and **Release to Pack** actions use the first available packing bench automatically; they do not open a bench-selection dialog.

<!-- faq:question -->Can I expedite orders with serial or batch tracking?<!-- /faq:question -->

Yes. WMS allocates the correct serials and batches upfront; your team confirms them during packing.
