# Understand what happens when you exceed your plan

Your Starshipit subscription includes a label allowance. Check how your subscription handles additional labels before deciding whether to use overages or change plans.

## Check your plan before another batch

1. Sign in to the Starshipit account whose usage you want to review.
2. Open **[Manage Account](https://next.starshipit.com/settings/manage-account)** and check your plan, label allowance and usage.
3. Confirm whether your subscription includes label overages, and the applicable rate and currency, in your subscription details or with Support.

Overage terms can differ between subscriptions, including legacy and Shopify-billed plans. Check your own subscription details.

If you receive an in-app or email usage warning, review these details before your next large batch of labels.

## Understand what happens above the allowance

Use the terms confirmed for your subscription to choose your next step:

| Your subscription | What happens above the allowance | Next step |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Label overages enabled | You can continue creating labels. The applicable overage charge is billed to the subscription. | Compare the cost of your expected extra labels at the confirmed rate with a higher allowance. A temporary increase does not necessarily require an upgrade. |
| No label overages | Starshipit services, including label printing and live rate generation, can be restricted. | Follow the plan-change procedure for your billing arrangement if you need to upgrade to continue. |
| Overage terms unconfirmed | Check your subscription before creating more labels. | Confirm your allowance and overage rate in your subscription details or with Support. |

## Decide whether to change plans

Compare the [available pricing plans](https://starshipit.com/pricing) if you regularly exceed your limit or need features included in another plan. Choose the procedure for your billing arrangement:

- **Billed through Shopify:** Follow **How do I change my Shopify plan?** in [Billing FAQs](/articles/8512957552143-billing-faqs). Save your selection and authorise the change in Shopify.
- **Billed directly by Starshipit:** Follow [Change your pricing plan](/articles/206705123-change-your-pricing-plan).

## Check your plan after changing it

Reopen **Manage Account** and check your plan and label allowance before processing the next batch. For Shopify-billed subscriptions, complete the authorisation in Shopify too.

If the plan has not changed, check that you completed the save or checkout steps. If your new plan is shown but the limit warning remains, [contact Support](https://support.starshipit.com/ticket) with your plan, displayed usage and the warning message.
