# Set up Hunter Express

Connect [Hunter Express](https://www.starshipit.com/partner/hunter-express) to Starshipit for domestic shipping within Australia. Choose the API version supplied by Hunter Express, then configure your services and shipment defaults.

## Before you begin

Ask your Hunter Express account manager which API to use and request the matching credentials:

* **Legacy API:** Account Code, API Username, and API Password.
* **New API:** Customer Code and Customer Name.
* Product codes and names for the services on your account.

## Set up Hunter Express

1. Go to **Settings** > **Couriers** > **Add a new courier**.
2. Select **Australia**, then select **Hunter Express**.
3. Tick **Enable Hunter Express**.
4. In **API Version**, choose **Legacy API** or **New API**.
5. Enter the credentials for the selected API. The fields change with your selection.
6. Click **Save**.

## Add product codes

1. Scroll to **Add product codes**.
2. Click **Add a new product code**.
3. Enter the code and name supplied by Hunter Express.
4. Mark the service as **Default** if it should be selected automatically.
5. Click **Save**.

## Configure advanced settings

Open the **Advanced** tab to set defaults:

| Setting | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **Receiver Address Commercial** | Treats receiver addresses as commercial for rating. Enable this only when your shipments are to non-residential addresses. |
| **Authority To Leave** | Requests authority to leave as the default delivery option. |
| **Label Format** | Sets the paper size and layout Starshipit uses when it creates Hunter Express labels. Choose the option that matches your printer. |

Click **Save** after changing these options.

## Verify the connection

Create a test Australian shipment, select a Hunter Express product code, and confirm that a rate and label are returned.
